  • Why ask your veterinarian about Drontal® Plus?
dog and internal parasites

  • Intestinal parasites love your dog (almost as much as you do.)

Intestinal parasites are worms that grow, feed and shelter inside a host animal – in this case your dog. When left untreated, they can cause a great deal of damage to your pet’s health and could even spread disease to you and your family (zoonotic infection).

By staying vigilant with regular veterinary care and asking your veterinarian about Drontal® Plus Tablets or Drontal® Plus Taste Tabs® for your dog, you have the power to help treat against intestinal parasites.

  • Trust your pet’s health to Drontal® Plus.

Consult your veterinarian if your dog or puppy exhibits diarrhea or vomiting, develops a bloated belly or excessively scoots on his bottom. These may be signs your dog has worms and should be treated as soon as possible.

Did you know your dog may be infected and you might not even know it? Dogs can harbor large numbers of parasites and show minimal to no signs.

  • Prevention Practices

Did you know your pets can pass certain parasite infections on to you? Easily help reduce the risk of this (Zoonosis) from happening to your family and protect your pets by following these simple preventative measures:

  • Protect Yourself

    boy and puppy

    • Practice good hygiene. Wash your hands regularly, especially after cleaning up pet waste or working in the garden.
    • Promptly pick up your dog's droppings from your yard, on walks, dogs parks or other areas your pet may frequently encounter.
    • Avoid walking barefoot or lying on the ground in areas that are known to be common animal soiling spots.

  • Protect Your Dog

    puppy playing
    • Have your dog seen regularly by a veterinarian, including fecal examinations and maintain an appropriate deworming schedule.
    • Have your dog on a regular flea and intestinal parasite preventative product. This is important because fleas can pass tapeworms onto your dog.
    • Bathe your dog after he has been playing/running through bushes or grassy areas or rolling around in dirt.

  • Not all medications are made the same.

As an informed pet owner, you want to be aware of what you are putting into your pet. This not only goes for pet food and treats but also extends to medications. As Drontal® Plus is a FDA-approved product, it has undergone extensive safety, stability, and effectiveness testing before it can ever reach your dog. Because of this, it is safe, effective and specifically formulated to provide dosing options for your dog.

Drontal® Plus is often mimicked through the act of compounding. This means that similar ingredients are combined to make a product that claims to closely match Drontal® Plus. However, compounded products are not required to have safety, stability, or effectiveness testing to show that they work or are even safe in your pet. In short, they are not made under the same strict FDA guidelines as that of Drontal® Plus. Be sure to ask for Drontal® Plus by name.
